Where is the Medical Library? The library is with you wherever you can use your tablet or desktop computer. Whether in clinic, in the lab, studying or relaxing, the electronic library is, now more than ever, the gateway to journals, books, class materials, and consultations. To “discover” what the library has to offer, start at the Dana website and search for anything by entering a title, subject, or keyword into the CATQuest search box. The library website is also your go-to source for making an appointment, getting a book or article delivered, and much more.
Renovations occurring within and adjacent to the library are bringing with them some disruption but also excitement for new possibilities. This newsletter issue shares the news, events and timeline for what is expected. We are focusing on the growth and expansion of collaborations and partnerships with the Teaching Academy and Larner College of Medicine Technology Services. We look forward to learning spaces adapted to both self-directed, team-based, and inter-professional learning. The completed renovations will create a Learning Commons that will include an upgraded multi-audience classroom, faculty development space, and both quiet and group study areas for medical and health sciences students.
The Dana Medical Library is committed to the support of evidence-based practice in the clinical professions through high quality information resources and medical librarian consultation. With the semester coming to a close and exams getting under way, make sure to take advantage of the resources that the library provides.
Wishing everyone safe and happy holidays,
Director, Dana Medical Library
