Dana Librarian to Present at Annual VCC Breast Cancer Conference

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this year the Vermont Cancer Center’s Breast Cancer Conference will meet again at the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center on October 31st. This is the 11th year of the conference and each year Library Associate Professor Nancy Bianchi has been an exhibitor, highlighting breast cancer materials from the Consumer Health Collection at Dana and helping patients and families navigate the online world of breast cancer information. This year Nancy will again be hosting a table at the conference, but will also present “Treasures in the Breast Cancer Literature for Patients, Survivors and Their Families.” Her presentation will focus on the breast cancer information portal on MedlinePlus, a free database from the National Library of Medicine, as well as the rich collection of breast cancer books available in the Consumer Health Collection at UVM’s Dana Medical Library.
